Pakistan and Russia Sign Agreement to Boost Parliamentary Cooperation


Moscow: In a significant development, the National Assembly of Pakistan and the Russian State Duma signed an agreement aimed at enhancing parliamentary cooperation. The agreement, signed in Moscow, seeks to establish permanent mechanisms for collaboration between the legislative bodies of the two countries.



According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and H.E. Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich, Chairman of the Russian State Duma, were present to formalize the accord. The focus of this agreement is to foster stronger ties through parliamentary committees, commissions, and friendship groups.



During the signing ceremony, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted his longstanding relationship with Chairman Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich and expressed his appreciation for the invitation extended to visit Pakistan. The two leaders also discussed the importance of enhancing trade and business relations, with plans to hold the fourth session of the Speakers’ Conference in Moscow in 2025. This visit by the Pakistani parliamentary delegation, led by Speaker Sadiq, included bilateral discussions following a meeting between the two parliamentary leaders.
