Pakistan and Qatar Strengthen Anti-Narcotics Collaboration


Islamabad: Pakistan and Qatar have reached an agreement to enhance their cooperation in the fight against narcotics, following a meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, and Qatar’s Ambassador, Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater, in Islamabad. The discussions also touched upon bilateral relations and the potential release of Pakistani citizens imprisoned in Qatar.



According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting delved into matters of mutual interest and explored ways to bolster collaboration across multiple sectors. Interior Minister Naqvi underscored the close ties between the two nations and discussed an upcoming conference on narcotics control, to be held in Islamabad in April, which will see participation from the head of Qatar’s drug control department.



The Qatari Ambassador extended an invitation to Minister Naqvi to visit Qatar, with the minister expressing a positive response. Ambassador Al-Khater reiterated the significance of the brotherly relationship between the two Islamic countries and emphasized Qatar’s commitment to maintaining strong bilateral relations with Pakistan.
