MANILA: Pakistan and New Zealand have pledged to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, sports, and people-to-people exchanges. This commitment was made during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and New Zealand’s Foreign Minister Winston Peters at the ASEAN Regional Forum ARF2026.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations by enhancing institutional linkages, engaging regularly, and facilitating high-level exchanges. The discussion also included an exchange of views on regional and international developments, where the New Zealand Foreign Minister acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role during recent US-Iran tensions and its efforts in promoting dialogue and regional peace.

Both leaders agreed to maintain close contact to further these initiatives.
