Pakistan and Malaysia Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan and Malaysia have reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation in key sectors, including trade, economy, banking, food technology, and agriculture. The agreement was reached during a meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting was attended by several senior government officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan. President Zardari emphasized the importance Pakistan places on its relationship with Malaysia and expressed confidence that the visit of Prime Minister Anwar would further strengthen ties between the two nations.

The discussions also touched upon the ongoing conflict in Gaza, with President Zardari expressing deep concern over the situation and urging the international community to prevent further atrocities against the Palestinian people.

In recognition of his support for Islamic causes and his strong ties with Pakistan, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was awarded the Nishan-e-Pakistan by President Zardari during a special ceremony. Anwar, an admirer of Allama Iqbal’s work, has been a vocal advocate for humanitarian causes, Islamic values, and global justice throughout his political career.

The event was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, federal ministers, service chiefs, diplomats, and other senior officials, followed by a state dinner in honor of the Malaysian delegation.
