ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Kuwait have agreed to enhance their bilateral cooperation by establishing stronger institutional linkages and facilitating regular high-level exchanges. This agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the delegation-level talks, co-chaired by Dar and Al-Sabah, encompassed a comprehensive review of the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Kuwait. The officials discussed strategies to bolster cooperation in various sectors including trade, investment, energy, labor, agriculture, information technology, health, mining and minerals, defense, and the broader economic partnership. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination and cooperation at multilateral forums on issues of mutual interest.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister expressed gratitude towards the Pakistani government and citizens for their hospitality and acknowledged Pakistan’s support to Kuwait during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also commended Pakistan’s constructive role in fostering regional peace and stability. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to its longstanding relations with Kuwait and expressed the country’s interest in expanding the partnership across all areas of cooperation. Additionally, the meeting included discussions on regional and international developments of mutual interest, such as the situation in the Middle East and Palestine.
