Islamabad: Pakistan and Kuwait have agreed to further institutionalize bilateral cooperation, aiming to enhance collaborations through improved institutional linkages and regular high-level exchanges. This understanding was reached during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Kuwait Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting, which involved co-chairing delegation-level talks, covered the entire spectrum of Pakistan-Kuwait bilateral relations. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, energy, labor, agriculture, information technology, health, mining and minerals, defense, and the broader economic partnership. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and cooperation at multilateral forums on issues of mutual interest.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister conveyed his gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for their warm hospitality and support, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized Pakistan’s deep commitment to its longstanding relations with Kuwait and expressed a desire to expand the partnership across all areas of cooperation. The discussions also included exchanging views on regional and international developments, specifically the situation in the Middle East and Palestine, with the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister appreciating Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
