AMMAN: Pakistan and Jordan have reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination at both bilateral and multilateral levels to enhance regional peace and stability. This development emerged during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar of Pakistan and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi, held on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem in Amman.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders expressed satisfaction with the growing momentum in Pakistan-Jordan bilateral relations and pledged to further enhance cooperation in political, defense, economic, educational, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges. They also engaged in discussions on regional developments, particularly the deteriorating situation in the Occupied West Bank.

The talks further encompassed the broader regional situation, including recent developments concerning Iran and the United States. Both leaders emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as essential tools for de-escalation.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar took the opportunity to commend Jordan’s role in safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and acknowledged its steadfast support for the Palestinian people.
