Islamabad: Pakistan and eleven other countries have issued a joint statement condemning an Israeli assault on the Global Sumud Flotilla, a civilian initiative aiming to highlight the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Foreign Ministers of Türkiye, Brazil, Jordan, Pakistan, Spain, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Colombia, Maldives, South Africa, and Libya have expressed strong disapproval of the incident. They described the Flotilla as a peaceful humanitarian effort and criticized the Israeli actions, which included attacks on the vessels and the detention of activists in international waters. The Ministers stated these actions are violations of international law and humanitarian principles.
The statement urged the international community to uphold its moral and legal responsibilities by protecting civilians and ensuring accountability for the violations. The Ministers called for action to enforce international law and safeguard humanitarian efforts in conflict zones.
