Islamabad: Pakistan and Egypt have agreed to bolster their bilateral cooperation across diverse sectors following the 10th Round of Annual Bilateral Consultations held virtually. The discussions were led by Additional Secretary Zahid Hussain from Pakistan and Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ambassador Amr Hamza from Egypt, focusing on enhancing trade, investment, education, and cultural exchanges.

According to Radio Pakistan, the consultations provided a platform for both nations to conduct a thorough review of their existing bilateral relations. The meeting underscored the importance of the ongoing coordination between the leadership of Pakistan and Egypt on regional and international issues, which has been pivotal in strengthening their partnership. Both sides reviewed the progress achieved under existing agreements and discussed the potential for further cooperation in areas including science, information technology, and other sectors of mutual interest.

The delegations emphasized the need to sustain high-level exchanges and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting each other at multilateral forums such as the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. The consultations highlighted the warm relations between the two countries and concluded with a mutual agreement to continue regular engagement. The next round of the Annual Bilateral Consultations is scheduled to be held in Cairo, with dates to be determined based on mutual convenience.
