Pakistan and China Pledge to Strengthen Maritime Cooperation


Beijing: Pakistan and China have pledged to deepen their maritime cooperation, emphasizing the importance of their strategic partnership in this domain. This commitment was made during the fifth Round of the Pakistan-China Dialogue on Maritime Cooperation, which took place in Beijing.



The discussions were led by Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, Additional Secretary (Asia-Pacific) of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Hong Liang, Director General of the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both sides highlighted the significance of high-level maritime collaboration as a key element of their longstanding partnership.



A central focus of the dialogue was the joint ambition to establish a Pakistan-China maritime community with shared interests and objectives. The two nations agreed to enhance communication on maritime matters and to coordinate their maritime policies more effectively.



This dialogue underscores the ongoing commitment of both countries to bolster their cooperative efforts in the maritime sector, aligning with their broader strategic goals.
