Islamabad, In a significant step toward bolstering bilateral relations, Pakistan and Bosnia have agreed to forge stronger ties through the signing of various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). This agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Secretary of Religious Affairs Dr. Syed Atta ur Rehman and the Grand Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Hussein, in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions emphasized collaboration in areas such as peace promotion, educational exchange, religious harmony, and the combat against Islamophobia. Acknowledging the deep-rooted cultural, historical, and religious connections between the two nations, Secretary Rehman outlined Pakistan’s readiness to formalize cooperation through MoUs encompassing religious education, book translations, and delegation exchanges.
The initiative aims to deepen mutual understanding and respect, fostering a shared commitment to addressing contemporary global challenges. The exchange of delegations, both at governmental and public levels, is expected to reinforce the friendly relations between Pakistan and Bosnia.
The Grand Mufti expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s peacekeeping efforts and humanitarian roles in Bosnia, highlighting the educational ties that have benefitted several Bosnian leaders. His remarks underscored the profound bond that exists between the two countries, further strengthened by shared experiences and collaborative endeavors.
On this occasion, the Grand Mufti also conveyed his Ramadan and Independence Day greetings to the people of Pakistan, symbolizing the fraternal connection between the two nations. He received English translations of significant Pakistani religious documents, marking a gesture of shared values and mutual respect.
This meeting sets a foundation for enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and Bosnia, promising a future of collaborative progress and shared prosperity.
