Pakistan and Bosnia Strengthen Parliamentary and Bilateral Ties


Islamabad: Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, the Convener of the Pakistan-Bosnia Parliamentary Friendship Group, recently met with H.E. Mr. Emin Cohodarevic, the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Pakistan, to discuss strategies for fortifying bilateral relations. The discussions focused on enhancing people-to-people interactions, expanding trade and business partnerships, and promoting inter-parliamentary collaboration.



Dr. Khan underscored the importance of remembering historical events like the 1995 Srebrenica tragedy to promote peace and justice. She emphasized Pakistan’s solidarity with the victims and reiterated the need for continued dialogue to foster tolerance and understanding.



Ambassador Cohodarevic advocated for increased parliamentary cooperation and the exchange of delegations to strengthen ties between the two countries. He highlighted a recent visit by a delegation from the National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad, to Bosnia and Herzegovina as a sign of growing academic and institutional engagement.



Both parties expressed a commitment to deepen cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, science and technology, defense, education, and cultural exchange. They also stressed the importance of regular high-level visits to further solidify the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
