Pakistan and Bangladesh Seek to Strengthen Bilateral Ties at U.N. General Assembly Meeting


New York: On the sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, a significant bilateral meeting took place between Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Professor Muhammad Yunus. The leaders discussed enhancing the fraternal ties between the two nations, which share a common heritage and culture.



According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of the historical and cultural bonds that unite Pakistan and Bangladesh. He advocated for increased cooperation through parliamentary exchanges, people-to-people contacts, and engagements among various groups including sportspersons, academics, artists, and students. An official invitation was also extended by the Prime Minister to the Chief Advisor to visit Pakistan, highlighting the significance of regional dialogue and cooperation.



The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement on the necessity of working together not only at a bilateral level but also in regional and multilateral arenas to foster development and progress for the peoples of both nations.
