MANILA: Pakistan and Bangladesh have announced plans to bolster their bilateral ties following a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister and incoming President of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Khalilur Rehman. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting.

According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders reviewed the progress in Pakistan-Bangladesh relations, which have seen renewed vigor since the Deputy Prime Minister’s visit to Bangladesh last year. They emphasized their commitment to enhancing their partnership and acknowledged the increased engagement between the two nations. This includes improved people-to-people contacts and connectivity, highlighted by the launch of direct flights between the countries earlier this year.

During their discussions, Dar and Rehman also shared views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, highlighting the importance of collaboration on a broader scale. Both sides agreed to maintain the current positive momentum in their relationship, aiming for further cooperation and understanding.
