Islamabad: Pakistan and Bahrain have agreed to enhance their bilateral cooperation across several key sectors, including trade, energy, and education, during the third session of their Joint Ministerial Commission. The meeting was co-chaired by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions focused on deepening collaboration in trade and investment, energy, agriculture, food security, information technology, health, education, and labor. Both countries also explored initiatives to improve connectivity and promote people-to-people exchanges. Senator Dar emphasized the need to translate the longstanding relations between Pakistan and Bahrain into concrete benefits for their citizens. He advocated for the effective implementation of the agreed outcomes through Joint Working Groups, institutional partnerships, and regular follow-up.
The session was attended by high-level delegations from both nations. The Pakistani delegation featured the Secretary of the Economic Affairs Division, the Acting Foreign Secretary, the Secretary of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, and senior officials from various ministries and departments. Senior Bahraini officials and representatives from the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry were also present at the meeting.
