MANILA: Pakistan and Australia have committed to enhancing their bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law as crucial elements for achieving lasting peace and security. This agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Australia’s Foreign Minister, Senator Penny Wong, held on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum 2026.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders engaged in discussions about the current state of Pakistan-Australia bilateral relations and expressed their dedication to further strengthening collaboration through continued high-level engagement. They also shared perspectives on regional and international developments, expressing concern over recent escalations in the area.

In the meeting, Senator Penny Wong acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive efforts in fostering dialogue and reducing tensions, underscoring the mutual interest of both nations in maintaining regional stability.
