Overseas Pakistanis Convention Begins in Islamabad with State Guest Status

ISLAMABAD: The first annual Overseas Pakistanis Convention commenced today in Islamabad, marking a significant recognition of the contributions of Pakistanis living abroad to the national economy. The government has accorded the status of state guests to the overseas Pakistanis attending the convention.

The event has been organized to bring together overseas Pakistanis, government representatives, and national institutions under one roof. This platform is aimed at facilitating a dialogue between these groups and acknowledging the critical role of the overseas community in supporting Pakistan’s economic framework.

To assist the participants, help desks from various government departments have been established at the venue. These desks are intended to provide comprehensive information, guidance, and services to the attendees, ensuring they have access to necessary resources in a single location.

In a video message, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, expressed the government’s commitment to addressing the issues faced by Pakistanis living abroad. He emphasized the importance of this inaugural convention in welcoming the opinions and suggestions of the overseas community.

Awn Chaudhry, Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis, also lauded the economic contributions of overseas Pakistanis. He highlighted the deep connection and loyalty that the overseas community holds towards their homeland.
