LAHORE: Over nine million citizens are currently benefiting from the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme, Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik announced at a public gathering in Lahore. Speaking on the government’s efforts to mitigate the economic impact of rising petroleum prices, Malik emphasized the commitment to shielding vulnerable segments of the population.
According to Radio Pakistan, Malik stated that the government has refrained from passing the entire burden of increased petroleum prices onto citizens, opting instead to raise prices only as required by the prevailing economic conditions. The Minister underscored the state’s responsibility to support weaker segments during challenging times and pledged not to abandon them.
In his address, Malik also highlighted the multifaceted challenges facing Pakistan, including external pressures and the resurgence of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He reassured the public of the government’s dedication to addressing these issues while maintaining support for those most in need.
