Over 3,000 Officers Ensuring Security for Youm-e-Ali in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have implemented comprehensive security arrangements involving over 3,000 officers for the Youm-e-Ali (RA) observance to safeguard processions and religious gatherings in the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, these measures were organized under the special directives of DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq. A detailed security plan has been established to ensure safety during the processions and majalis associated with Youm-e-Ali. To maintain order, participants are required to access the processions through specified routes, following security checks including walk-through gates, metal detectors, and body searches.

Adjacent streets and lanes along the procession paths have been sealed, with snipers positioned on rooftops to enhance security. DIG Islamabad noted that special security checks are in place at all city entry and exit points, with senior police officers actively supervising the arrangements and briefing the personnel on duty.

Additionally, traffic police are engaged to ensure smooth vehicular movement and assist citizens throughout the event. DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq emphasized the police’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of the citizens.
