OGDCL Begins Production from Pakistan’s First Horizontal Oil Well, Pasakhi-13

Hyderabad: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has begun oil production from the Pasakhi-13 well, marking a significant development in Pakistan’s energy sector. This well, located in Hyderabad, Sindh, is the country’s first horizontal oil well and is producing 460 barrels of oil daily.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Pasakhi-13 well’s output is nearly three times higher than that of conventional wells, attributed to the application of modern technology. This advancement is part of a broader initiative led by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to modernize and stabilize Pakistan’s energy sector, aiming for long-term self-reliance.
