ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed his satisfaction regarding the steps taken to reduce non-essential expenditures and enhance resource efficiency in the government.
According to Radio Pakistan, Dar’s remarks came during a meeting of the Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Conservation and Additional Austerity Measures held in Islamabad. The meeting aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of current initiatives designed to uphold fiscal discipline given the current economic situation.
The committee, chaired by Dar, dedicated its discussions to reviewing the implementation status of previously approved austerity measures across various ministries and provinces. The Deputy Prime Minister instructed the relevant ministries and departments to reinforce their monitoring mechanisms to ensure adherence to established guidelines and maintain fiscal discipline.
