NTDC Achieves Key Digital Upgrade with SAP Finance Module Implementation

Lahore: The National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) has reached a significant phase in its digital overhaul with the successful implementation of the SAP Finance Module. The launch event was held at NTDC’s office in Shaheen Complex, where the Information Technology department team activated the Go-Live for the Finance Module, marking a pivotal shift towards modernizing the company’s operations.

According to National Transmission and Despatch Company, the ceremony was attended by Deputy Managing Directors Engr. Qaiser Khan (P and E) and Engr. Rasheed A. Bhutto (AD and M), who praised the Information Technology and Finance Directorates for their achievements. They highlighted the development of extensive training programs for NTDC employees to ensure a smooth transition to the new system. The SAP Finance Module is set to move NTDC away from manual processes to a paperless and more efficient environment.

Updates on the Finance Module and overall ERP implementation were provided by Mr. Waseem Saadat, Chief Financial Officer, and Mr. Khalid Mahmood, Chief Information Officer. They emphasized the anticipated improvements in transparency, accuracy, productivity, and efficiency throughout the organization due to this system.

The ceremony also showcased the ongoing efforts towards the full implementation of SAP, specifically SAP S/4HANA Finance, which demonstrates NTDC’s commitment to comprehensive digital transformation.

Key NTDC officials, including Engr. Sohail Mumtaz Bajwa, GM (HR); Muhammad Ibrahim, GM (Media and PR); Amir Rasheed, DG IT Network; Muhammad Farooq Shaukat, DG IT Software; Mr. Zakaullah Project Manager, Mr. Atif Riaz, Functional Managers Finance; and Tashbih-ul-Hassan, Manager Finance attended the event. Representatives from Siemens SAP vendor and PWC PMQA were also present, underscoring the collaborative effort involved in this significant project.

This successful implementation signifies a major advancement in NTDC’s efforts to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery within Pakistan’s power transmission sector, setting the stage for further upgrades in managing the national power transmission infrastructure with greater effectiveness and transparency.
