Notorious Drug Peddling Couple Arrested in Islamabad

Islamabad: In a significant development, the Islamabad Police, under the directives of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, have intensified their operations against drug trafficking within the capital, resulting in the arrest of a couple involved in smuggling activities.

The Sangjani police team apprehended Raheem Gul and Zeba, who were caught red-handed while using family travel as a cover for their illegal activities. Authorities recovered 2,612 grams of hashish from their possession.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple confessed to supplying narcotics to youth, particularly targeting students. They admitted to transporting drugs from Peshawar to Islamabad and distributing them in suburban areas such as Sarai Kharbooza, Dhok Abbasi, and Dhok Tuman.

The Islamabad Police are continuing their efforts to dismantle the broader drug supply chain associated with the couple. Deputy Inspector General of Police Shakir Hussain Dawar affirmed the ongoing crackdown on drug dealers, emphasizing the focus on protecting the youth.

Dawar urged citizens to support the police by reporting any suspicious activities or items to the nearest police station or through the emergency helpline “Pukar-15.”
