No Muslim Representation in Modi’s New Cabinet

New Delhi, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again shown his bias against Muslims by excluding them from his cabinet.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian media reports that the newly formed government, comprising 30 ministers and 41 ministers of state, does not include a single Muslim. The first cabinet meeting is scheduled for this evening, during which the Cabinet will request the Indian President to convene a parliamentary session soon. Analysts believe that building consensus on controversial political issues will be a challenge for the Modi government, given the strong opposition.

Yesterday, Narendra Modi took the oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time, with President Draupadi Murmu administering the oath. Muslims, who constitute up to 18% of India’s population, face disadvantages in all aspects of life, including education. During Modi’s previous term, scholarships for Muslim students were also abolished.
