ISLAMABAD: In the aftermath of severe flooding, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has mobilized its field personnel to remain on high alert, ensuring the restoration of vital transportation routes. The Gilgit-Shandur Road, critical for connectivity in the region, has been fully restored for all types of traffic, following the successful construction of an alternate route at a key point where floodwaters had swept away a bridge.

According to Press Information Department, NHA staff are actively working with district administrations to maintain a smooth traffic flow and provide assistance to travelers. Maintenance operations are ongoing across other affected areas, with significant progress reported. Clearance work has been completed at the Knat Bridge, and debris has been removed from another bridge. Efforts at Ansar Camp are focused on backfilling a bridge using stone dumping, while water flow at the JSR Sassi Bridge has been diverted to facilitate upstream excavation. Despite minor delays due to strong water flow, the NHA plans to promptly deploy heavy machinery as conditions improve, ensuring the continuity of restoration efforts.
