New York State Assembly Adopts Resolutions Celebrating Pakistani-American Relations

New York, The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York has expressed its gratitude toward the New York State Assembly for the recent adoption of three pivotal resolutions that mark significant days celebrating Pakistani-American relations and achievements. These resolutions designate 23rd March as Pakistan-American Heritage Day, 14th August as Pakistan Independence Day, and acknowledge the contributions of the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee (APPAC).

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the resolutions were passed thanks to the advocacy of the American-Pakistani Advocacy Group (APAG) and APPAC. Their efforts were pivotal in promoting the recognition of important dates related to Pakistan and its diaspora, enhancing the cultural and cooperative ties between the state of New York and Pakistan, particularly with the provinces of Punjab and Sindh.

These resolutions underscore the growing connections and mutual respect between New York State and the Pakistani community, reflecting a broader commitment to acknowledge and celebrate cultural diversity and international friendship within the state. The Consulate General highlighted that such recognitions play a crucial role in fostering a deeper understanding and cooperation between the two regions, benefiting communities on both ends.
