Islamabad: A high-level diplomatic delegation from 15 countries visited the National Emergencies Operations Centre (NEOC) at the NDMA Headquarters in Islamabad. The delegation, consisting of Heads of Mission and senior diplomats accredited to Pakistan, was joined virtually by over 34 Pakistani Ambassadors and Heads of Mission stationed abroad.

According to Press Information Department, the NDMA team presented a detailed exposition of NEOC’s capabilities and Pakistan’s proactive disaster management systems aimed at reducing disaster risks. Chairman NDMA Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik outlined the agency’s measures for regional integration and a global disaster risk reduction reset. The delegation was briefed on Pakistan’s disaster management standards and plans to secure next-generation technologies for improved disaster early warnings and coordinated response actions.

The appraisal highlighted local risk communication, anticipatory action administration, national resource mobilization, and international coordination. The session also featured the “Disaster Lens 2026” demonstration and Comprehensive International Simulation Exercises for disaster readiness.

Representatives from various international organizations participated both in person and virtually, discussing regional cooperation and disaster risk reduction mechanisms. The delegation commended Pakistan NDMA’s disaster management strategies and expressed interest in ongoing collaboration for emergency response. Both parties emphasized the need for strengthened institutional linkages to address climate change and complex disaster risks.
