NDMA Holds National Simulation Exercises to Bolster Monsoon Preparedness

Islamabad, The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) conducted a series of comprehensive national simulation exercises aimed at enhancing the preparedness of provincial disaster management agencies for the upcoming monsoon season. These exercises, which were part of a two-day National Monsoon Coordination Conference, took place at the National Emergencies Operation Center at NDMA Headquarters.

According to National Disaster Management Authority, the simulation exercises focused on multi-hazard scenarios, including potential flooding and road blockages, which are typical challenges during the monsoon season. The primary goal of these exercises was to assess and improve the response capabilities of disaster management teams across the provinces.

The exercises allowed participating agencies to engage in realistic scenarios that tested their readiness to manage emergencies effectively. By simulating severe weather conditions and their potential impacts, NDMA aims to ensure that all relevant units are well-equipped and coordinated to handle any situation that may arise during the monsoon period.

This initiative is part of NDMA’s proactive approach to disaster preparedness, emphasizing the importance of readiness and swift response to natural calamities to mitigate risks and protect communities across Pakistan.
