Islamabad: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf reaffirmed the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to defending its maritime borders during the induction ceremony of the second PN MILGEM Class Corvette, PNS KHAIBAR, into the naval fleet.

According to Radio Pakistan, Admiral Ashraf emphasized the importance of equipping the Navy with advanced technology to target critical infrastructure and vulnerabilities of potential adversaries. He highlighted Pakistan’s strategic location along key maritime trade routes, underscoring the need for a strong naval presence to protect national interests and ensure secure Sea Lines of Communications.

During his address, the Admiral referred to past naval operations, noting that the Pakistan Navy’s strategy in the Marka-e-Haq operation had demonstrated its capability and resolve, compelling the Indian Navy to remain in safe zones. He stated that any threats to Pakistan’s maritime interests would be met with a suitable response.

Admiral Ashraf concluded by noting that the induction of platforms such as the PNS KHAIBAR and the anticipated HANGOR class submarines represent significant steps in modernizing the Pakistan Navy, enhancing its operational capabilities and strategic reach.
