National Economic Council Approves Rs3,669 Billion Development Budget for Next Fiscal Year


ISLAMABAD: The National Economic Council has approved a development budget totaling 3,669 billion rupees for the upcoming fiscal year. The budget allocations include 1,000 billion rupees for the Federal Public Sector Development Programme, 2,218 billion for the Annual Provincial Development Programme, and 451 billion for State-Owned Enterprises. The Council’s decision was reached unanimously in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Council also set a growth target of four percent for the next fiscal year, following a 3.7 percent growth rate for the current fiscal year. The meeting provided a briefing on the performance of the Central Development Working Party and the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council from April 2025 to March 2026.
