National Assembly of Pakistan Elects New Chairpersons for Standing Committees

Islamabad: The National Assembly of Pakistan has successfully completed the election process for the chairpersons of various standing committees, marking a significant step in its legislative organization.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, The elections resulted in new leadership across key committees. Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk has taken the helm of the Standing Committee on Law and Justice, while Ms. Munaza Hassan will lead the Committee on Climate Change and Environmental Coordination. Other notable appointments include Khawaja Sheraz Mahmood as the Chairman of the Committee on Science and Technology, and Muhammad Atif who will oversee the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Division.

The elections also saw Muhammad Idrees appointed as the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Energy, Rai Hassan Nawaz Khan leading the Committee on Railways, and Syed Amin Ul Haq in charge of the Committee on Information Technology. Farooq Sattar will head the Standing Committee on Privatization, Syed Hafeezuddin will guide the Committee on Industries and Production, and Muhammad Jawed Hanif Khan will manage the Standing Committee on Commerce.

These elections are pivotal for the operational efficacy and strategic oversight of various sectors within the government, ensuring that each committee is led by individuals capable of addressing pertinent issues within their respective domains.
