Islamabad: In a meeting held at Parliament House, the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs convened under the leadership of Chairperson Hina Rabbani Khar to address pivotal issues affecting Pakistan’s foreign policy. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar participated in the discussions, highlighting the importance of strategic diplomacy in a rapidly changing global landscape.

The Committee’s agenda covered significant global developments, notably in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, and their potential impact on Pakistan. Members present at the meeting included notable figures such as Ms. Shazia Marri, Ms. Shaista Pervaiz, and Mr. Khurram Munawar Manj, among others.

The Ministry presented proposals aimed at optimizing operational efficiency, such as transitioning to electric vehicles and phasing out rental properties for foreign missions. These measures were discussed as potential solutions to alleviate financial pressures on the national exchequer.
