Islamabad: The National Assembly of Pakistan passed a resolution today, extending warm felicitations to China on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations. The resolution, proposed by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, emphasized the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China and reiterated the commitment to strengthen their strategic cooperative partnership.

According to Radio Pakistan, the resolution highlighted the importance of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and affirmed the legislative body’s commitment to ensuring its timely completion for the benefit of Pakistan. The National Assembly expressed its dedication to deepening bilateral relations across various sectors and strengthening parliamentary diplomacy with the National People’s Congress of China.

The session was attended by a Chinese delegation led by Cai Dafeng, Vice Chairman of the National People’s Congress, who witnessed the proceedings. Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq welcomed the delegation, acknowledging the significance of their visit during the anniversary celebrations. Remarks were made by various leaders, including Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and Opposition Leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai, who underscored the strength and resilience of the bilateral relationship.

The assembly session also addressed local issues, including the progress of Karachi’s K-IV water project, which is expected to be completed by year’s end. The assembly will convene again on Friday.
