ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly of Pakistan has approved “The Iqbal Academy (Amendment) Bill, 2025” during its session held at the Parliament House. The session, chaired by Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, also saw the introduction of “The Pakistan Airports Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2026” and the presentation of “The Islamabad Capital Territory Local Government (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026.”
According to Radio Pakistan, the legislative activity marks a significant advancement in the assembly’s agenda before the session was officially prorogued. The Iqbal Academy amendment aims to enhance the operational framework of the institution dedicated to promoting the works of the renowned poet and philosopher Allama Iqbal. Meanwhile, the introduction of the Pakistan Airports Authority amendment signals upcoming changes in the administration of the country’s airports. The Islamabad Capital Territory amendment ordinance was also laid before the House, indicating potential reforms in the local government structure.
