Naseerabad Prepares for Monsoon Season with Comprehensive Flood Mitigation Measures

Naseerabad: Commissioner Moinur Rahman Khan has called for thorough preparations across the Naseerabad Division to prevent urban flooding during the upcoming monsoon season. The focus is on ensuring the cleanliness of drainage channels and safeguarding infrastructure, including the Sindh Balochistan National Highway and railway tracks.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Commissioner Khan outlined the preventive strategies during a meeting with deputy commissioners and other key officials. He emphasized the critical need for cleaning blocked bridges on the National Highway to facilitate water discharge and prevent overflow during heavy rains.

The meeting, attended by significant district and irrigation officers, also discussed the coordination required between various departments to implement these measures effectively. The Commissioner stressed that these actions are in response to directives from the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary of Balochistan, aiming to ensure that the region’s residents are not adversely affected by the seasonal rains.

Further, an emergency protocol will be activated across all medical centers, and flood emergency control rooms will be established in every district to manage any arising situations efficiently. The health department is tasked with ensuring readiness to relocate people to safer locations if necessary.
