NACTA Approves Establishment of National Intelligence Fusion Center

Islamabad: The Board of Governors of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has approved the creation of the National Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Center (NIFTAC), aiming to bolster efforts against terrorism. The decision was made during the board’s fifth meeting, led by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in Islamabad.

During the meeting, Minister Naqvi emphasized that the establishment of NIFTAC resulted from extensive consultations with relevant departments. This initiative is expected to play a pivotal role in addressing terrorism more effectively.

The center is set to have branches in all provincial capitals, marking a significant move toward realizing NACTA’s primary objectives. It is also designed to ensure the comprehensive implementation of the National Action Plan.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry remarked that NIFTAC would significantly enhance NACTA’s operational capacity, underscoring its importance in the broader strategy to combat terrorism.
