Islamabad: Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the Speaker of the National Assembly, has implemented several key measures to expedite the expansion of the Parliament Lodges, aiming to complete the long-delayed project swiftly. His actions come in response to previous project stagnations and escalating costs.
According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Speaker Sadiq, alongside Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, has held multiple meetings with involved stakeholders to push for rapid progress. He has been closely monitoring the project’s development, enforcing stringent controls on expenses, and ensuring the efficient utilization of public funds. His direct interventions have secured the necessary funding for the project’s timely continuation and have instigated legal proceedings against entities causing undue delays.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has committed to completing the first phase of the project within this financial year and the second phase in the following year, alleviating the concerns of parliamentarians affected by the construction delay.
