Muharram Highlights Unity and Resistance, Says Pakistani NA Speaker

Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, extended his wishes to the people of Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah on the start of the Islamic New Year 1448 Hijri, expressing hope for peace and progress. He emphasized the importance of unity, sacrifice, and resistance to oppression, particularly during Muharram.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Sadiq highlighted that Muharram-ul-Haram symbolizes patience and the distinction between truth and falsehood, referring to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions’ courage against injustice. Sadiq stressed that Karbala’s message transcends boundaries, standing as a universal emblem against tyranny. He called for religious leaders to foster unity and harmony, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, urging Muslims to advocate for justice.

Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah also conveyed his best wishes, underscoring the values of sacrifice and perseverance embodied by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA). He called for self-reflection and a renewed commitment to unity and national progress, emphasizing that social harmony and adherence to the rule of law are key to stability. Both leaders expressed hopes for peace and prosperity in the coming year.
