Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan Awarded Pakistan’s Highest Civil Honor on National Day


Islamabad, In a prestigious ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Saturday, President Asif Ali Zardari bestowed the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Pakistan’s highest civil award, on Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission. The award recognizes Khan’s outstanding contributions and valor in various governmental fields, underscoring his extensive experience and leadership within both federal and provincial domains.



According to Press Information Department, the investiture ceremony was attended by ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, and other distinguished guests. Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan, celebrated for his more than 35 years of dedication to public service, has previously held significant roles, including Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue and Secretary of the Board of Investment. His tenure in the public sector spans key positions in the Planning and Development Departments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, highlighting his versatile expertise in economic growth, public financial management, and infrastructure development.



Throughout his illustrious career, Khan has been instrumental in fostering bilateral economic ties between Pakistan and France, enhancing disaster risk management, and leading initiatives in energy, climate change, and technology. His role as Vice Chair of the Public Private Partnership Authority and his leadership in managing significant funds and projects exemplify his commitment to Pakistan’s development and prosperity.
