Ms. Rebeca Grynspan Visits Islamabad as Candidate for UN Secretary-General


Islamabad: Ms. Rebeca Grynspan, a candidate for the position of United Nations Secretary-General, met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House today. During the meeting, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to multilateralism and its dedication to upholding the principles of the United Nations Charter.



According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of implementing United Nations Security Council resolutions and respecting international law to foster global peace, security, and prosperity. He emphasized the need for balanced progress across the United Nations’ three pillars: peace and security, development, and human rights.



Prime Minister Sharif also stressed the urgency of accelerating the global development agenda and enhancing international cooperation to address challenges faced by developing countries.



Ms. Grynspan acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions to the United Nations and praised its role in recent regional peace initiatives.
