Islamabad: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB) has disputed claims made by the Afghan Taliban that a hospital in Kabul was targeted by the Pakistan Armed Forces. The ministry’s statement challenges assertions that the Omid Hospital was struck, emphasizing that the actual target was a military site.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Fact Checker of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting clarified that the Omid Hospital, mentioned in a tweet by the Afghan Taliban’s regime, is located several kilometers from Camp Phoenix. The statement noted that Camp Phoenix, a military terrorist ammunition and equipment storage site, was precisely targeted, not the hospital. Furthermore, the ministry pointed out that the actual hospital is a multi-storied building, unlike the targeted military infrastructure, whose image was released.

The Fact Checker also questioned the plausibility of a drug rehabilitation facility being situated near a lethal ammunition storage site within a military camp, a query that remains unresolved. Additionally, the ministry raised concerns about the deletion of the post and video by the Afghan official handle, which initially claimed that a “drug rehabilitation center” was attacked. The Fact Checker noted that the clip in question appeared to be a synthetic AI creation that failed to withstand fact-checking scrutiny.
