Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the need for international collaboration in combating terrorism during a meeting with a U.S. Congressional delegation in Islamabad. The delegation, comprising Congressmen Jack Bergman, Tom Suozzie, and Jonathan Jackson, engaged in discussions centered on enhancing cooperation in areas including economy, trade, investment, security, and counter-terrorism.

Naqvi highlighted the global challenge posed by terrorism and stressed the importance of intelligence and technology sharing as critical components in counter-terrorism efforts. He emphasized Pakistan’s significant sacrifices in the war on terror and expressed hope that the visit by the U.S. Congressmen would underscore Pakistan’s contributions in this domain.

The Interior Minister also appreciated the U.S. delegation’s participation in the recent Minerals Investment Forum in Islamabad. He assured that the government is committed to providing comprehensive support and security for foreign investments, underscoring the commitment to fostering economic ties.

The U.S. Congressional delegation acknowledged Pakistan’s pivotal role in the fight against terrorism, emphasizing the need for this contribution to be globally recognized. They also praised the Pakistani community in the United States for their capabilities and proficiency, highlighting the strong ties between the two nations.
