Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has approved an in-principle plan to establish a uniform nationwide system for issuing Police Character Certificates, aimed at streamlining and digitizing the process.
According to Radio Pakistan, the announcement was made during a meeting chaired by the Interior Minister in Islamabad. Naqvi stated that the issuance of Police Clearance Certificates will now be managed through the National Police Bureau. The decision is expected to simplify the previously complicated procedure, making it fully online and more accessible.
Additionally, Naqvi instructed the development of a standardized system for International Driving Permits. He emphasized that these initiatives will facilitate citizens, particularly those traveling abroad, by making the processes more efficient.
The Interior Minister also highlighted the transformation of the National Police Bureau into a more active institution as a priority. He acknowledged the sacrifices of police martyrs, affirming their role in maintaining peace and combating crime in the country.
