Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, has expressed sorrow over a tragic bus accident in Vodpora, Handwara. The incident claimed the lives of two students and left several others injured.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq described the event as deeply heartbreaking, highlighting the impact of the untimely loss on the community. He extended condolences to the families affected and prayed for their strength to endure the loss.

He also wished for the swift recovery of the injured students and expressed solidarity with their families and the college community during this challenging period.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq emphasized the importance of student safety during educational trips and public travel, urging the authorities to take precautions to prevent future incidents.

Earlier, the bus carrying college students on a picnic overturned in Vodpora, resulting in fatalities and injuries. Two of the critically injured students were sent to Srinagar for further treatment.
