Srinagar: Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq chaired a meeting of the Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid to finalize the arrangements for the observance of Lailatul Qadr and Jumat-ul-Vida at the mosque.
The meeting, reported by Kashmir Media Service, took place at the central office of the Auqaf with Mirwaiz Farooq presiding as the head.
During the meeting, it was decided that the Taraweeh prayers on Lailatul Qadr night would commence at 10:00 PM, followed by a religious sermon by the Mirwaiz. The night prayer, known as qayamul lail, is scheduled to begin at midnight.
For the congregational Friday prayer, Jumat-ul-Vida, the gathering will start at 2:30 PM, with Mirwaiz slated to deliver his sermon beginning at 12:45 PM.
The meeting focused on ensuring arrangements are in place to accommodate worshippers and visitors, particularly those traveling from distant locations.
Mirwaiz emphasized the importance of the Auqaf officials and staff fulfilling their responsibilities to ensure smooth proceedings during these observances.
