Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja Leads Pakistani IT Delegation to Global Digital Economy Conference in Beijing

Islamabad: Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, has landed in Beijing to spearhead a delegation at the Global Digital Economy Conference 2024. The event, which runs from July 2 to July 5, aims to foster business-to-business cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese IT companies.

According to Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Minister Khawaja was welcomed at Beijing Capital International Airport by several dignitaries including Mr. FU HaiFeng, Director of the Digital Economy Development Center, Beijing BIIT, and Mr. Bilal Mahmood Chaudhary, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Pakistan, along with other senior officials. Her visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing collaboration in the IT sector with China, reflecting the strategic importance of digital economy partnerships.

The conference presents an opportunity for the 20 IT companies from Pakistan, accompanying Minister Khawaja, to engage with their Chinese counterparts, exploring avenues for collaboration and investment in the burgeoning digital economy. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to position Pakistan as a significant player in the global IT landscape.
