Minister Ahsan Iqbal Commits to Comprehensive Counterterrorism Strategy


Islamabad: In a firm declaration of the government’s resolve, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has reiterated the commitment to eradicate terrorism in all its forms. Speaking at a conference in Islamabad, he conveyed a vision for a Pakistan free from the shackles of fear, hate, and violence.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Iqbal praised the significant strides made through the bravery and dedication of the armed forces, law enforcement, and citizens. Despite these advances, he stressed the necessity for national unity and a comprehensive strategy to combat the root causes of extremism. The Minister emphasized the importance of curriculum reforms aimed at fostering critical thinking, tolerance, and pluralism.



Furthermore, Iqbal advocated for empowering local communities and religious leaders to effectively challenge radicalization at the grassroots level, underlining the role of community engagement in sustaining long-term peace and security.
