KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has set clear deadlines for the completion of ongoing development projects and emphasized the restoration of streetlights alongside roadworks. According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the announcement was made during a meeting chaired by the mayor, which included key officials from the Engineering Department.
Mayor Wahab underscored the importance of timely completion of large-scale projects currently underway in various parts of Karachi. He stressed that these projects should be finished promptly to benefit the city’s residents. He also directed officials to ensure quality workmanship and proper finishing, along with continuous monitoring of the projects’ progress.
The mayor highlighted the significance of streetlight restoration, stating that it is crucial for providing better infrastructure. Alongside road rehabilitation, lighting arrangements should be integrated into the development of roads, footpaths, and other civic facilities. Mayor Wahab instructed that quality standards be maintained and that projects nearing completion meet satisfactory finishing requirements.
Municipal Commissioner Abrar Jafar, Finance Adviser Gulzar Abro, Director General Technical Services Tariq Mughal, and other officials attended the meeting, where they reviewed the stages of ongoing projects and discussed future actions to ensure their timely execution.
