Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has initiated an E-Kachehri, an online public hearing platform, to promptly address and resolve citizen complaints. During the inaugural session held on Monday, residents from various parts of the city raised issues concerning cleanliness, road repairs, water supply, sewerage, and other municipal concerns.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the mayor issued immediate directives to relevant departments to ensure timely resolution of the complaints. The E-Kachehri, which ran from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., allowed many citizens to directly communicate their grievances to the mayor. This initiative was met with positive feedback from the public, who expressed their appreciation for the direct line of communication.
Among the complaints were concerns about road conditions and water supply, which prompted the mayor to emphasize the importance of swift action by municipal officials. He also directed that citizens be kept informed of the progress on their complaints to enhance transparency in addressing grievances.
Citizens were able to register their complaints via phone numbers 021-99216727, 021-99215125, and 021-99215126. Mayor Wahab reiterated that the E-Kachehri aims to provide immediate relief and direct access for resolving municipal issues, with efforts to address urgent matters within 24 hours.
