Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has unveiled a detailed plan to enhance civic facilities and municipal arrangements in preparation for the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, which holds significant religious importance for the Muslim community. The initiative aims to ensure efficient municipal services and infrastructure improvements ahead of the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Wahab emphasized the spiritual and historical significance of Rabi-ul-Awwal, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad, and outlined the city’s commitment to providing necessary civic amenities during this period. At a meeting held at the KMC Head Office, attended by Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad and other officials, the Mayor discussed plans to address civic issues, including the opening of the Korangi No. 5 Flyover and the renaming and beautification of Regal Chowk to Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk.

Religious scholars and procession organizers present at the meeting voiced their concerns over existing civic challenges and recommended improvements in sanitation, road repairs, and security arrangements for religious processions. The Mayor’s initiative was well-received by attendees, who praised the collaborative approach with religious leaders to improve municipal services during the holy month.
